India will play their inaugural World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand at Southampton’s Ageas Bowl, and not at Lord’s, from June 18-22, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly confirmed on Monday.

Southampton, with a five-star facility inside the stadium, will make it easier for both the ICC and the ECB to create a bio-bubble for the teams.

“Yes, the final will be held at Ageas Bowl,” Sourav, who is expected to travel to the UK for the game, said.

Southampton usually sports slowish tracks which might give India a slight edge given their spin attack.
