Albert Roca to coach Bengaluru
Calcutta: Bengaluru FC on Wednesday announced the appointment of Spain’s Albert Roca as the club’s new coach for a two-year tenure. The 53-year-old Spaniard, who has a wealth of coaching experience at the highest level, will be with the reigning I-League champions till the end of the 2017-18 season. Roca has served as an assistant to Frank Rijkaard for five seasons at Barcelona (2003-2008).
Bielsa role
Rome: Lazio have appointed former Argentina boss Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager, the Italian club said on Wednesday. The Rome-based side said Bielsa would arrive at the club on Saturday.
Henrikh move
London: Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has joined Manchester United from German club Borussia Dortmund on a four-year contract, the Premier League club announced on Wednesday. The 27-year-old scored 41 goals in 140 appearances during his three-year spell at Dortmund.

Calcutta: Rajesh Narwal scored 16 points as Jaipur Pink Panthers crushed Dabang Delhi 51-26 as they became the first team to reach the 50-point mark in the fourth season of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League. It was the third win of the season for Jaipur Pink Panthers as got the top spot — on score difference — with 20 points after six matches.

New Delhi: Indian athletes travelling to Rio de Janeiro for next month’s Olympics will get Indian food in the Games village. The Sports Ministry said on Wednesday that some athletes had requested for Indian food to be available at the Games village.

London: Mercedes denied on Wednesday that Lewis Hamilton trashed his room in a fit of anger after a qualifying crash and lied about the state of his relationship with Nico Rosberg. The team was responding to comments made by non-executive chairman and shareholder Niki Lauda.
