London: Roberto Mancini took charge of Galatasaray in Turkey on Monday night, four months after he was dismissed by Manchester City. The Italian, who led City to the 2012 title, signed a three-year deal worth £2.9 million in his first season and £3.8 million for the subsequent two campaigns.

He succeeds Fatih Terim, also the Turkey manager, who was dismissed as coach last week. Galatasaray have won one of their opening five league games and are eight points behind Fenerbahce with a match in hand. They lost 1-6 at home to Real Madrid in the Champions League. The Turkish club laid out Mancini’s bonus schedule.

“If Galatasaray reach the quarter finals of the Champions League and win the league, Mancini will earn a bonus worth euros 300,000 (about £251,000), which will be made payable next season,” the club said.
