Kagiso Rabada out of India tour due to groin injury

BRIEFS: The 24-year-old will be out of action for four weeks after suffering the injury during the final T20I against Australia

South Africa’s premier pacer Kagiso Rabada has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against India after sustaining a groin strain. The 24-year-old will be out of action for four weeks after suffering the injury during the final T20I against Australia on Wednesday. The Proteas are scheduled to travel to India for a three-match ODI series, starting on March 12 in Dharamsala.

5 matches postponed

Five Serie A matches which had been scheduled to go ahead behind closed doors this weekend, including the key clash between Juventus and Inter Milan, have been postponed because of the coronavirus crisis, Italy’s soccer League said on Saturday. All five games, which also include AC Milan v Genoa, Parma v Spal, Sassuolo v Brescia and Udinese v Fiorentina, will now be played on May 13, Serie A said in a statement.

Offensive banner

The Munich club’s fans displayed the banner insulting Hoffenheim investor Dietmar Hopp in the 79th minute. The referee ordered the teams into the tunnel and some Bayern players as well as the entire club leadership walked to the stands and urged fans to take it down immediately.

Archery meet

Bengal Archery Academy, Jhargram, claimed all the prizes in the sub-junior boys’ recurve competition at the 42nd State Archery Championship, being held at Mahisadal Swimming Club. The same academy also won the first two positions in the sub-junior girls’ recurve competition.
