India midfielder Ashique Kuruniyan, who joined ATK Mohun Bagan from Bengaluru FC on a five-year deal, said he would give his best for his new club.  The 25-year-old Kuruniyan impressed with his speed and creativity in the recently-concluded Asian Cup Qualifiers.

“I have the experience of playing at the junior level in Europe (La Liga club Villarreal). The infrastructure in Calcutta is great. It’s a footballer’s dream to play in Calcutta,” the Kerala-born footballer said.

“A few days ago, when I was playing for my country at the Salt Lake Stadium, I saw the passion and interest of the people about football. I’m looking forward to don the green-and-maroon jersey,” an ATKMB media release quoted him as saying.

Known for his ability to play on the wing as well as a side-back, Kuruniyan comes from Bengaluru FC which he joined in 2019 from Pune City.

Ashish Rai, another new signing who shot into prominence under coach Manolo Marquez in Hyderabad FC, said it was a dream come true to play for the Juan Ferrando-coached side.

BFC recruitment

Bengaluru FC on Monday announced the signing of right-back Prabir Das from ATK Mohun Bagan on a three-year-deal. Das, a product of the Pailan Arrows Youth Academy, brings with him the experience of having played for a number of clubs.
