Calcutta: Small-town cricketer-turned-national hero Mahendra Singh Dhoni is all set to capture the imagination of Kalyani, a town 50-odd kilometres away from the city, when Jharkhand take on Services in a Group D match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Tuesday.

It will be a treat for Kalyani, which has already been put under heavy security cover, when the former India captain takes the field.

Having witnessed an overwhelming response at Eden Gardens where about a thousand people turned up for Jharkhand's two matches, the CAB will be distributing about 2,000 free passes for the spectators in Kalyani.

"Entry will be free, but one has to show the pass to watch the match," a CAB official said.

The Jharkhand team, along with Dhoni, were put up at the Bengal Cricket Academy in Kalyani. Besides Tuesday's match, Jharkhand will play Jammu and Kashmir at the same venue on March 6.

So far, Jharkhand have won against Chhattisgarh, after they were beaten by Karnataka.

Bengal also have a match on Tuesday and they will be taking on Goa, in Chennai. Captain Manoj Tiwary sounded confident.

"We are well-prepared for the match. The boys are ready for the challenge," he said.

Asked if there are any particular areas where the team would like to perform better, Manoj said: "There will always be such areas. The batsmen who got starts in the last match but couldn't carry on for longer will surely like to do better. Similarly, the bowlers too will try to rectify their mistakes."
