The Cricket Association of Bengal is set to pay Bengal cricketers their match fees they are due to receive for the 2020-21 domestic season in case the lockdown isn’t lifted post May 30. The same process had been followed last year.

“The procedural formalities require every player to sign and only then the details are sent to the BCCI. And the amount is then sent directly by the Board to the respective accounts (of the players).

“Now if the lockdown is extended, it won’t be possible for all the players to come (to the CAB) and do the needful. So us office-bearers will meet in that case and discuss about paying the match fees to the players, as we don’t want them to suffer in any way.

“Thereafter, we’ll seek reimbursement from the BCCI as we had done last year,” CAB president Avishek Dalmiya said on Wednesday.
