q+a My BlackBerry Z10 phone keeps shutting down at random even when the battery shows 70-80 per cent charge. The version of the operating system installed on my phone is 10.3.2.

The first thing you have to do is turn off the battery saving mode in your phone. Navigate to Settings-Battery Saving Mode. Slide the buttons to the left to turn off 'Battery Saving Mode' and disable 'Turn on Battery Saving Mode Automatically'. A software update seems to have broken this feature in some phones. Turning this off usually fixes the problem.
If it does not solve the issue, completely discharge the battery till the phone shuts down. Take out the battery, SIM and SD Card. Leave the battery out for at least two hours. Next put back the battery, SIM card and SD card. Plug the power cable into the phone, but not to the power outlet. Hold power button on the phone for about two minutes. Plug the phone into the power outlet and let the phone switch on. Charge it completely till it shows 100 per cent in the indicator.
Correct format
q+a I have a 16 GB pen drive. Although it is empty, whenever I try to copy any file or folder I am told there is not enough space. I have formatted the pen drive but it continues to show the same message. What should I do?

Most pen drives come pre-formatted to the FAT32 file system. This prevents you from copying a file or folder larger than 4 GB. Navigate to your USB drive and right click on it. Select Format. Under File System select NTFS. Now format it. You will be able to copy your files.
Picture perfect
q+a I have an Instagram account, but I cannot save pictures on my feed to the phone.

The official Instagram app does not allow you to save photos to your phone's camera roll. However, you could use an app such as InstaSave. Download this app from Google Play and log in. Select a picture and tap the 'Repost' button. An alert will pop up asking you whether the Instagram app should be opened. Say 'Later'. The picture is saved to the camera roll of the phone.
Migrate better
q+a I am not able to transfer apps from my older Android phones to my new Moto X Play running on Android version 6.0.1. With my earlier Samsung and Sony Xperia phones, I could take apps using Bluetooth or Xender and they would run.

There are more security restrictions in place with newer versions of Android to protect you from malicious activities of hackers. The best way to get back your apps is to go to the Google Play store on the new phone. From the menu go to My Apps and here you will see the list of all your apps with their updates. Tap on update all.
To get back your other stuff, download Motorola Migrate onto your old phone from Google Play and open Migrate on your new phone. Just follow the instructions on both phones. Migrate will transfer all your data including contacts, messages, photos, video and music.
