Bhubaneswar, Dec. 1: Young entrepreneurs and inventors are the VIPs at the industrial expo, a part of the Make in Odisha Conclave.

The exhibition is an attempt to boost the start-up ecosystem and encourage young entrepreneurs. A number of youngsters who want to start their own companies attended the exhibition today, the second day of the conclave.

More than 250 Indian and international companies have set up their kiosks. Top officials from companies such as Jindal Steel and Power Limited, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, Odisha Computer Application Centre, Shahi Exports Private Limited and JK Paper Limited were present.

Youngsters were able to interact with the best minds in industry to get ideas and make their fledgling start-ups take off.

For Ananda Kumar Mishra, a youngster based in Bhubaneswar, the industrial expo at the Make in Odisha Conclave was most beneficial.

Mishra, who runs an online grocery store, Grozip, heard the first-hand success stories of various successful entrepreneurs at the exhibition.

Developers, designers, marketers, product managers and young entrepreneurs have come together to share ideas, form teams, build products and launch start-ups at the exhibition.

"I learned how to utilise my skills in a more productive way and use resources properly. I interacted with many senior officials of big firms in the field of food and beverages and I will apply what I learnt to my business," said Mishra.

Some local start-ups that have scripted success in the past few years, such as Nestaway, Oyo Rooms, Book Ticket Now and Zerodha, were also present.

A major hit at the exhibition was Yi (Young India) Innovex, featuring founders of successful start-ups from Odisha. Yi Innovex had about 12 kiosks. Young India, of Yi, is an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry.

"Innovex is a platform for new talents, inventors and entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas and products to the industry bodies, government authorities and the public. We aim to provide easy access to a large number of experienced angel investors, venture capital firms and many more. We want to help those with innovative ideas to execute them," said Vivek Batra, chair, Yi Bhubaneswar.
