Bhubaneswar, Feb. 10: Xuberance 2011, the annual campus recruitment process at the premier B-school in the state, came to a close with 100 per cent placement for post-graduate diploma in management course (PGDM). In addition to the regular recruiters, the campus saw several first-time recruiters this year.
The 2011 batch saw an average salary of Rs 10.76lakh per annum. “Over 70 companies participated in the recruitment drive. Out of this, 20 percent were first time recruiters,” said prof. Saveeta Mohanty told newspersons.
The campus saw regular recruiters such as OLAM International, AATCO, Cognizant, Godrej Properties, HCCBPL, Deloitte, United Spirits Ltd, HP, Tata Corp HR, Godrej & Boyce, TCS, Wipro, Axis Bank, SBI Caps, ICRA, CRISIL, JP Morgan Chase, Tata Steel and SBI among others. Among the first-time recruiters present were Procter & Gamble, GE, Adani Group, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Avalon Consulting, Renault Nissan India, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Citibank, Capgemini, Mindtree, Bajaj Auto, Glenmark Generics, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Panasonic, Akzonobel, Novartis, Metro Cash & Carry, HCL Technologies, Polaris, Tally Solutions and Ramco Systems.
Students were offered diverse profiles in functional domains such as marketing, sales and distribution, brand management, marketing analytics, credit rating, corporate banking, human resource consulting, supply chain management and production management etc.
Xuberance 2011 also witnessed several international placements with prestigious global companies like Kadence International and AATCO offering excellent profiles and lucrative pay packages. The highest international package offered was $32,650 per annum. The highest domestic salary was Rs 15 lakh per annum, offered by a renowned FMCG giant.
Consulting offers continued to grow, taking up 14 per cent of the batch. The major recruiters offering consulting profiles were Cognizant, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Capgemini among others. The IT Sector recruited 24 per cent of the batch and featured industry leaders from the entire IT spectrum like Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, HCL Technologies, Hewlett Packard, Mindtree, Polaris and Ramco Systems who offered lucrative roles to the students. The finance sector also had a strong presence with recruiters such as JP Morgan Chase, Citibank, Fidelity, SBI Caps, SBI, Religare, CRISIL, ICRA, ICICI Bank, L&T, HDFC Bank and many others recruiting over 19 per cent of the batch.
In the marketing domain, big names such as Procter & Gamble, Reckitt Benckiser, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Pvt. Limited (HCCBPL), Kadence International, Cavinkare, Akzonobel, Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting (WCCL), United Spirits Ltd, Godrej & Boyce, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Tata Motors, Panasonic, Idea, IMRB, Tata Steel recruited about 25 per cent of the batch.
HR had regular recruiters such as Tata Corp HR and Dell along with recruiters like Renault Nissan India, Godrej & Boyce, Glenmark, Novartis, Larsen & Toubro and Religare offering HR profiles. PwC and Deloitte offered HR Consulting roles.
The operations stream saw the likes of Adani Group, Renault Nissan India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Godrej & Boyce, and Tata Steel offering diverse and attractive profiles to the students in the fields of Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Production Management,” said Mohanty.
