Berhampur, March 6: The X-Ray unit at MKCG Medical College and Hospital’s radio diagnosis department is used for both patients and bodies because the forensic medicine department does not have such a unit.
Officials said the department of forensic medicine and toxicology (FMT) sent bodies for X-Ray before post-mortem. “As the department has no X-Ray unit, we have to send bodies to the radio diagnosis department for analysis. X-Rays are conducted after 2pm, when there is less rush,” said associate professor Sudeepa Das of FMT.
Head of radio diagnosis department K.C. Biswal said: “Relatives of the deceased force us to conduct the X-Ray in the morning, when there is a rush. It is awkward. We have been asking for an X-Ray machine for a long time.”
