Bhubaneswar: Police on Thursday recovered a woman's body from her house at Munda Sahi in Nayapalli police limits and registered a murder case based on a complaint filed by her relatives.

The deceased has been identified as Jhuli Muli, 25. The body has been sent for autopsy to Capital Hospital.

"Prima facie it seems that she was murdered," said a police official.

Local people smelt foul play and called the police when she did not open the door on Thursday morning. The cops broke open the door.

"The body was lying on the bed. There were signs of strangulation on her neck, based on which we suspect it to be a murder case," said the official.

It is suspected that Jhuli's husband Madhu, who hails from Bengal, has murdered her. Sources said Madhu was working at a hotel here. Since the morning, the man has been at large.
