The scene from the film ACP Shiva in which Odisha DGP KB Singh is projected as a 'martyr'.
The Odisha Police Association on Friday demanded an apology from the makers of Tamil movie ACP Shiva, which was released in Hindi last week, for projecting the Odisha director general of police as a martyr.
In the scene, the lead character ACP Shiva played by Tamil actor Sathyaraj, who enacted the popular character of Kattappa in the blockbuster Baahubali, is seen standing in front of a wall with pictures of several police officers, who laid down their lives for the country, and the photograph of Singh (encirled) also features.
"The film-makers have made a mockery of the chief of the Odisha police. As a number of people of the state will watch the dubbed Hindi version of the movie, this is a serious issue. The makers of the film must apologise," said president of the association Satyajit Mishra. However, Singh suspected that the moviemakers used photographs from the Internet. "Dying for the country is a matter of pride but I am very much alive," said Singh.
