Bhubaneswar, Nov. 28: Great opportunities lied ahead of Indian students to pursue higher studies in the United States as the American government has now simplified the visa application procedure, said James Hagengruber, vice-consul of the US Consulate in Hyderabad.
Hagengruber, who is here on a three-day visit along with a team of experts, was talking about the academic possibilities in the US during an interaction with students of the Siksha O Anusandhan University.
Students can find all the necessary details about the higher education institutions, courses, tuition fees and other details from the internet, he said, addressing the young gathering at the Institute of Technical Education and Research, the university’s faculty of engineering.
His team of experts said graduate courses in the US could be intensive, involving coursework with a thesis or non-thesis option. “Often, it is quite specialised with some research component to it. The learning experience was self-directed and interaction between faculty and students and among students themselves,” said a team member.
The team also toured the institute and checked the various facilities and laboratories available on campus.
