Balangir: Titilagarh Government Railway Police arrested three persons on Friday who were involved in an attack incident that took place on January 27.
Titilagarh Railway Protection Force inspector-in-charge Sushil Pathak got seriously injured after being attacked by three masked criminals near Malgodam in Titilagarh.
The criminals have been identified as Shibaram Sahu, Chintu Parua and Muna Sonakar, and they belong to Titilagarh. They were remanded in judicial custody after their bail plea was rejected on Saturday. Pathak was returning home after attending a meeting in Sambalpur on January 27 night.
Three masked men intercepted him at the old Malgodam Square and attacked him with iron roads and sticks before he could react. He suffered serious injuries in the chest, face and head. The criminals fled the spot after attacking the cop.
Pathak was first admitted to sub-divisional hospital in Titilagarh and later shifted to railway hospital in Sambalpur. He thought the criminals attacked him as he was taking action against illegal traders in the railway station. Pathak lodged a complaint with Titilagarh Government Railway Police against three persons, who had allegedly threatened him with dire consequences for his drive against illegal traders carried out in the trains and platforms.
