Bhubaneswar, Nov. 2: Xpressions, the annual fest organised by Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, started today. A range of events to test the students’ skills, creativity and innovation has been lined up for the three-day fest. Over 60 B-schools and 20 undergraduate colleges will take part in the fest.

While Gladiator will test the students’ expertise in the fields of management, Kurukshetra will test business acumen by simulating a real-world scenario consisting of markets, customers and owners.

In Conclave, some of the best brains will come together for discussions and interactions on the subject ‘Creativity at a premium in a wave of 1.2 billion’. Writer and director Anurag Basu, founder of Innovative Ideators Dinesh Goel and CEO of Dhamara Port Company Limited Santosh Kumar Mohapatra will speak on the subject.

The fest will also have events such as Skill City, a range of creative games that compels one to take up logical reasoning and analytical thinking, Helios, a management game designed exclusively for undergraduate students, and Spardha, to test social entrepreneurship skills.

“Then there are the events organised by the academic committees of XIMB — Dalal Street, Nirnay, Case in Point, Maven and Prikrama,” said student Amrit Kumar.

Music composer duo Salim-Sulaiman will perform during Celiblitz, the star night of Xpressions organised on the last day of the fest. Other events include Fashion Rampage, a fashion show, Goonj, a solo singing extravaganza, and Thirkan, a group dance competition.
