Jajpur, March 18: Two Class IV students of Kantigadia primary school, which falls in Dharmasala block in the district, were allegedly molested by one of their teachers at the school.
The accused, Santosh Rout, has been absconding since the day the complaint was lodged with the authorities concerned.
The aggrieved parents have not made any complaint to the police, but instead have reported the matter to the school and mass education secretary demanding stern action against the accused.
“I want stringent and exemplary action to be taken against the teacher,” said Prafulla Kumar Jena, father of one of the victims.
Another complaint was lodged with the school headmaster against the teacher by the father of a girl student, in which he alleged that his daughter, a Class IV student, was also subjected to sexual abuse by the same teacher.
Expressing regret over the incident, the headmaster of the school, Lokanath Patra, said: “The teacher has very bad antecedents.”
The school and mass education secretary has ordered the district project coordinator, Jajpur, to inquire into the incident and present a report immediately.
“I have ordered an inquiry into the incident. After getting the report, we will take appropriate action,” said district project coordinator, Ajaya Kumar Jena.
