Berhampur (Odisha), Jan. 17: Three persons were killed when a Bhubaneswar bound LPG tanker turned turtle here today.

The mishap took place when the tanker, which was coming from Visakhapatnam, lost control in a bid to avoid a collision with a scooter near Chhatrapur College Square and overturned. This led to gas leakage and triggered panic among residents and the district administration. Power supply was snapped in the area to prevent the possibility of an explosion.

A source said the body of the woman victim was recovered, while two other bodies were still lying trapped under the tanker. The victim was identified as Kiranbala Sahu of Langaleswar in Khallikote. She had come to attend an interview and was with her father at the spot where the tanker overturned.
