Visual treat
The Annual Function of SAI International School, Confluence 2015, proved to be an event worth waiting for. The youngest group of the school presented a musical extravaganza on February 13 and 14, which was a beautiful blend of rhythm and melody laced with their exceptional confidence.
The theme of Confluence for students studying in playgroup to Class III was "Whorls of the World", and it was a visual delight as the little ones presented various cultural dances from across the globe. The theme put forward the diversity of the world, and with their tentative steps, the kids presented salsa from South America, folk dance from Africa, hip hop from North America, Russian ballet of Europe, folk dance of Costa Rica and dance items inspired by the Chinese and Indian culture. It was also heartening to see the kids dressed as penguins in a dance from Antarctica and as bright as yellow daffodils in a flower dance of Europe. The performance based on animal safari from Africa was intriguing as the children, dressed up as animals, stole everybody's hearts.
Math tips
Students appearing for matric exams this year received tips from well-known mathematician Anant Charan Pati at a workshop hosted at an institute on Tankapani road in Bhubaneswar. The octogenarian, who had recently received the award for popularisation of mathematics from the Odisha Mathematical Society and has 38 years of teaching experience from primary to secondary levels in various tribal areas of the state, said students should be given enough freedom to think over a mathematical problem. Around 20 students attended the workshop. Pati gave detailed tips to the students to do well in the exams.
