
Google award
Omshi Samal, a Class-XIII student of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, has been selected in the panel for the Global Google Code Winner, 2017, among 50 others through an online test. Google has invited Omshi and her parents to the US on a week-long study trip in the first week of June where she will be honoured at the company headquarters. Her project on liquid galaxy has won the first prize in its category and attracted attention from experts.
Omshi will also get prizes and other packages during her trip. School principal K.C. Satapathy and academic supervisor Niranjan Swain congratulated Omshi for this feat.
Summer camp
East Coast Railway (ECoR) organised a summer camp in Bhubaneswar for the children of its employees under the Central Staff Benefit Fund. In the valedictory function, ECoR general manager Umesh Singh distributed prizes to the children for their outstanding performance in different fields and encouraged them to utilise their learning from the camp in future. Over 300 children took part in various activities under the guidance of trained instructors. ECoR Women's Welfare Organisation president Madhulika Singh, ECoR principal chief personnel officer Manju Ray and chief personnel officer (administration) Prabhat were present.
Scout camp
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan State Bharat Scouts and Guides Training Camp was inaugurated by deputy commissioner of the sangathan's Bhubaneswar regional office A.V.L.J. Rao on at Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3 here. About 116 participants for basic, and advanced training courses for scout master, guide captain, cub master and flock leaders were present. Eighteen officials from different parts of the region trained the participants.
