Bhubaneswar, Jan. 5: State BJP leaders and its youth wing activists are giving final touches to preparations for the rally and public meeting of party president Amit Shah, who is arriving here on a two-day visit tomorrow.

The meeting venue, the Unit-VI athletic association ground behind the Capital Hospital, is being prepared keeping in mind the expected turnout ofaround 50,000 people from various parts of the state, including Puri, Cuttack, Balasore, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.

The dais has been set up towards the athletics association office-end of the ground. State BJP leader Sameer Mohanty, who is in charge of preparations, said there would be six enclosures in front of the dais.

'As it will be an open stage, people will not face any problem seeing or listening to our president. We have made adequate arrangements at the meeting place for crowd management by our youth wing activists,' said Mohanty.

Keeping in mind the huge congregation, police have made arrangements for vehicle parking at the venue. Mostly the under-construction overbridges on the National Highway No. 5 will be used for the parking purpose. Vehicles will also be parked on the newly constructed roads that are yet to be opened to public. Apart from this, BJB College ground, Saheed Nagar ground and some other big grounds in the city will be used for parking.

Party workers will reach the venue in processions that would start from various places in the city. While the people, coming from Puri, will begin their procession from Shishu Bhavan Square, activists from Khurda will go the meeting place in a rally that will originate from Siripur. Two other groups will start their processions from Unit-VIII Saraswati mandir and Kharavela Nagar.

'We have taken adequate steps for vehicle parking at various places in the city, and no vehicle will be allowed to go near the meeting place to avoid traffic problem. We are concentrating on the smooth passage of the rallies and processions that would begin from various places in the city. Commuters may face a little inconvenience during this period,' said deputy commissioner of police Satyabrata Bhoi.

Mohanty said that though police took care of the crowd and traffic regulation, along with the security arrangements, the party's youth volunteers would also co-operate with the cops in crowd management. He said there would be 30 people, including Shah and two central ministers, on the stage.
