The ODI match at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack was called off, but t2 caught up with a couple of former cricketers who had come to lend their expert opinion about the game.

With not much to do, both Sourav Ganguly and Wasim Akram spent most part of their day at Hotel Hindustan International, Bhubaneswar. The former Pakistani pacer and skipper made sure he did not miss any chance to workout and spent about three hours slogging in the gym. He ordered biryani for dinner and complemented the chefs later.

Dona Ganguly may come often to Bhubaneswar to perform Odissi dance but her husband and the former Indian cricket captain said, “I come only when there is a match”, and he did not forget to mention, “Odia cuisine is fabulous”.

So, is Dada planning something special for the master blaster when he plays the second-last match of his Test career at the Eden Gardens?

“I just hope that he scores big,” he said.

With two games washed away, which team has the edge in the ongoing India-Australia series? “It’s evenly poised,” said the southpaw.
