Angul, Jan. 22: Santosh Satpathy, manager of Orissa Stevedores Limited, at Talcher was arrested in connection with masterminding the firing incident on January 11.

Inspector in-charge of colliery police station Bhabani Udgata said Satpathy was arrested for hatching conspiracy to kill one Amiya Kumar Ganguly, manager of Jalaraam Transport. An unidentified man fired four rounds of bullets at Ganguly when the latter was standing near the gate of Jagannath colliery colony. While three bullets missed the target, the fourth hit the leg of Ganguli’s driver. Police looked to nab the assailants, who had been reportedly hired from Cuttack. The firing allegedly took place over the issue of a Rs 50 crore tender for miner work at Kaniha open cast mine.
