Bhubaneswar, March 30: A 29-year-old employee of a private bank today lodged a complaint of sexual harassment against the regional manager of the bank. The woman has accused her boss of harassing her for the last two years.
"He has been using sexually explicit and vulgar language along with indecent gestures with an intention to derive sexual pleasure from me. As I protested, he frequently changed my position in the office with the clear intention of harassing me," the woman said.
The woman said that she was posted in the bank in June 2013 after the death of her husband, who used to work in the same bank.
"He has been frequently telling me that I should know how to impress him. When he failed to entice me, he started telling others that I am mentally unstable," she said.
She also alleged that despite her allegation against the official with the HR division of the bank, they did not take the matter seriously.
"After all of this, he forced me to sit in an isolated place in the office and told my colleagues that I had illicit relationships with several men," she said.
The woman also alleged that the senior bank official also misbehaved with other female employees of the bank.
"After my seniors in the organisation failed to redress my grievance, I decided to seek police help," the woman said. On the other hand, the accused said that the allegations made against him were baseless.
The Saheed Nagar police have registered a case and started an investigation.
"We have registered a case under several sections of Indian Penal Code including 354-D (showing indecent gesture towards women), 294 (obscene acts and songs), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and are investigating the matter," said inspector in-charge of Saheed Nagar police station Deepak Kumar Mishra.

MMS case
The CBI is trying to find out whether builder Subrat Sahu, alias Kalia, 40, who was arrested on charges of circulating MMS clippings of his intimate moments with his receptionist on social networking sites, had any links with Sunil Meher, a notorious pimp who has been caught running sex rackets in the city several times.
Sources in the CBI said that during raid at Kalia's residence officials had found several incriminating documents, including pen drives and CDs.
"The CDs seized from his residence and office revealed that he had filmed himself having sex with several girls and women. We suspect that he might have been forcing them to indulge in sex trade by threatening them to make the clippings public," said a CBI official.
The investigating agency also found the mobile number of Meher from Kalia's cellphone. Meher is now lodged in Jharapada jail after being arrested by city police in February.
"Meher has been arrested by the police several times in the past for running an illegal sex trade and we suspect that both Kalia was also a playing a major role in this," said a CBI official.
The investigating agency is also trying to ascertain whether the motive behind Kalia making these films was to sell them to pornographic websites. The investigating agency had also found a word file in his computer containing the names of pornographic sites. The investigating agency will also scrutinise the bank transactions of Kalia to ascertain whether he had received any money from any of these websites.
Sources said that Kalia used to offer jobs to his victims in his real-estate firm and then lure them into having sex with him promising financial benefits.
"We are also looking for the person who had recorded these acts using his mobile phone," said a CBI official.
The CBI has booked Kalia on charges of propagating obscene material and assaulting a woman with the intention of outraging her modesty.
He has also been charged under various sections of the Information Technology Act relating to violation of privacy and publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form.
