Balasore, Nov. 8: An asset belonging to Seashore Group, the deposit collection company, situated at Betnoti in Mayurbhanj district has been sealed by the local tehsildar.
The properties included a patch of land measuring about three acres, a building, a rice mill, allied machineries and equipment located within Tarakoti mouza, about 4km from the tehsil office.
Betnoti tehsildar Niharika Ray said: 'The plot, along with rice milland its equipment, including parboiling machine, a truckand electric panel unit, has been sealed and seized underdirection of the Cuttack additional district magistrate. These assets have been handed over to the local police for watch and ward.'
The present worth of the assets could be more than Rs 2 crore, she said.
The additional district magistrate had directed the local administration to seal and seize the property under the rice mill called Jyotish Agro and Oil Product Private Limited. Seashore has been under the scanner of the state crime branch ever since the multi-crore scam bythe deposit collection companies came to therefore.
The chief of the group, Prashant Dash, has been in jail ever since his arrest by the crime branch on June 19, 2013, for duping thousands of investors.
The investigating agency had sealed a part of company's assets after seizing computer hard disks, documents, files and the available paddy and rice stock in the mill.
