Bhubaneswar: Admission to Plus Two courses will be done only through the online mode this year.

The admission will be done only though online mode under project Student Academic Management System (Sams) and admission in offline mode is prohibited from the session 2018-19.

The Sams is an integrated academic management system and comprehensive tool for students, parents, administrators at colleges and the government to overcome challenges in the process of college admissions and post-admission processes.

"It has come to the government's notice that some fake institutions are coming with advertisement in media for admission to higher secondary schools. Hence, it has become necessary to put a check on those," said school and mass education secretary P.K. Mohapatra.

Till last year, admission was done both on both online and offline modes.

The government has asked the students, parents and the public to verify the list of junior colleges and higher secondary schools coming under Sams on the website www.srne.odisha.gov.in or www.samsodisha.gov.in before taking admission and avoid such offline admission to those fake institutions.

"Students who take admission other than Sams will not be allowed to appear in the higher secondary examination conducted by CHSE," said Mohapatra, adding if educational agencies that have no permission or recognition admit students through the offline mode, legal action would be taken.

Also, if recognised higher secondary schools admit students through offline mode, their recognition would be withdrawn forthwith.

"Both legal and departmental action will be taken against those institution as well as the principals concerned," said Mohapatra.

Experts and academics said the system would bring transparency.
