Bhubaneswar, Jan. 30: Registrations for Odisha Joint Entrance Examination 2014 will begin from tomorrow.
Students seeking admission to MCA/MBA, MCA (dual degree), MTech (fulltime and part-time), MArch, BPharm/MPharm, homeopathy, ayurvedic, post-graduate diploma in management (PGDM), post-graduate diploma in computer management)/ PGDM (executive) and Masters in applied management courses in state universities can register online from tomorrow, said OJEE secretary Priyabrata Sahoo.
He said that those who wanted lateral entry into BTech/BPharm/BArch courses could also use the facility.
The last date of registration is March 15. Students can download application forms from the OJEE website, which was launched today.
“The website www.ojee2014.com is new and improved. It has been designed to make it more user-friendly way and the step-by-step procedure makes it easier for students to comprehend,” Sahoo said.
However, the earlier website www.odishajee.com will also remain functional, an official said.
Apart from the entrance test syllabus, the website also contains question papers of previous years to help students prepare for the examination. The entrance exam will be held on May 11.
With the introduction of the online process, it will be the first time that students will no longer need to send their documents by post.
“Everything, including the pictures, signature and thumb impression can be uploaded, scanned and submitted along with the form. There will absolutely no postal communication from either side,” Sahoo said.
The students will need to keep a copy of the confirmation page and produce it at the time of exam. They can use this facility to print the confirmation page till March 27.
Examinations will be held at 20 locations across the state. “Since the government has opted for the JEE (Mains) for BTech and architecture courses, the number of examinees will be less this time. We have finalised 20 locations and centres will be decided depending on the number of students,” an official said.
Sources said that nearly 50,000 students from across the state were expected to take the entrance exam. The government has this year decided to take students from JEE (Main) for its engineering (BTech) admissions.
Similarly, MBBS students will have to take the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Test.
Last year, Odisha had taken students for undergraduate and dental courses for admission from the National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test (NEET-UG). However, on July 18 the Supreme Court had declared NEET illegal.
