Cuttack, June 10: Ravenshaw University’s sixth convocation will take place on July 2. Union minister of human resource development M.M. Pallam Raju will attend the event as chief guest and felicitate gold medallists in various disciplines, said varsity officials.
On the occasion, a memorandum will be submitted to the minister seeking funds for all-round development of the premier institution. Sources said the university would press for additional central assistance and funds from the University Grants Commission to introduce more courses.
Authorities, however, have not shortlisted eminent persons in various fields who will be conferred with the honoris causa.
“The list of personalities will be made and sent to the Raj Bhavan in two days for the final approval of the governor,” said Ravenshaw vice-chancellor B.C. Tripathy.
