Ramadevi final-year results declared

The Plus Three final-year undergraduate results of Rama Devi (RD) Women's University were announced today.

Bhubaneswar, May 27: The Plus Three final-year undergraduate results of Rama Devi (RD) Women's University were announced today.

While Sudipta Rath of psychology department scored 712 marks out of 800, the highest in arts, Soumya Saswati of chemistry secured 710 marks out of 800. In commerce, Sandeepa Sahoo of accounting department got 846 out of 1,000.

Soumya was announced the best graduate of 2016.

Varsity vice-chancellor Padmaja Mishra said the pass percentage in the arts stream was 90.31, while in science and commerce, it was 89.05 and 96.95 per cent, respectively.

In science, all students in the physics department passed, while in commerce, the accountancy department secured 99.26 pass percentage.

In arts, too, the psychology and mathematics departments secured full pass percentage, while 96.43 per cent students passed in the philosophy department. This was the first results of RD Autonomous College after its upgradation to university in 2015.

The varsity plans to open a self-financing postgraduate course in journalism from next year.

"The university will go for the complete digitisation of the examination process from next academic session," said Padmaja.

The final-year results of degree courses at BJB Autonomous College were also announced today. Saurav Sahoo of the mathematics department, who has secured highest marks in science, was declared the best graduate of the college.

He scored 1,585 out of 1,600 marks. Anchal Patnaik of psychology department emerged as the arts topper with 1,440 marks, while Dipti Mohapatra of accountancy topped in commerce with 1,442 marks.
