Bhubaneswar, Sept. 12: Organising puja has become an easy task with a techie launching a website that provides solutions to your religious needs.

If you want to get things done at a jiffy, all you have to do is visit www.samastapuja.com and order puja samagri and prasad that's a must for various religious festivals. All the items will be delivered on your doorstep. You can also hire a priest through the website.

The idea to start the website came to Raghunandan Ray when he became tired of running errands for his mother. "My parents are very religious people. During every religious ceremony, my mother would give me a long list and I would have to go and search for the items. All the items required for puja are not always available at a single shop, so I had to visit several ones," said the Centurion University graduate.

It was also an uphill task to find a priest during popular festivals. "Priests are very busy during festivals. One has to book weeks in advance to get one. During popular festivals such as Lakshmi Puja and Ganesh Puja, I found myself running around temples asking if any priest was free. It was absolutely tiresome," he sighed.

Apart from booking priests for religious festivals, you can also ask them to perform the rituals for weddings, thread ceremonies and pre-nuptial rituals among others. Ray has already tied up with 50 priests.

"The concept is new for them, but they are upbeat because this will provide them with extra income during other times of the year. Moreover, these Brahmins are quiet senior and adept with mantras and rituals," he said.

There are 85 types of Pujas - including Durga, Ganesh, Hanuman Jayanti, and Janmashtami - listed on the website and the services come as a package.

Apart from individuals, organisations, factories, schools, colleges and office can also avail themselves of the services. "We receive orders both from the website and through emails and phone calls," said the entrepreneur.

"Each puja is different and requires distinctive materials. So, you can book a package in accordance with the puja. I have visited a lot of temples and met a number of senior priests to get the list of items required," said the 23-year-old engineer.

"We also offer last-minute services. For example, you can book a package three hours before the puja," he said. Ray is assisted by a few of his friends in the initiative.

At present, one can get the website's services in Puri and Cuttack, apart from the state capital. "But I will shortly venture into other towns such as Rourkela, Sambalpur, Angul and Berhampur," Ray said.
