Bhubaneswar: Implementation of large investment projects in the state has witnessed significant progress.
This was revealed from the review taken by the project monitoring group of Prime Minister's Office (PMO) held here on Friday. Joint secretary (PMO) S.D. Sharma, who attended the meeting, said: "We have reviewed around 15 projects of worth more than Rs 43,000 crore and marked significant progress."
Chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi directed the executing agencies to maintain constant monitoring of the projects.
The major projects reviewed in the meeting included Khurda-Balangir new rail link with estimated cost of Rs 3,550 crore, Sabamlpur-Bamur doubling (Rs 1,111 crore), Haridaspur-Paradip new railway line (Rs 1,000 crore), Talcher-Bimilagarh new rail line (Rs 811 crore), Angul-Sukinda new line project (Rs 6,386 crore) and Chandikhol-Duburi-Talcher section of the national highway estimated around Rs 996 crore.
The issues relating to rehabilitation, disbursement of compensation, shifting of utilities, compliance to forest diversion proposals, forest clearance and compensatory afforestation were discussed and resolved, official sources said.
