Angul, Oct. 24: Three hand-written posters have been put up at Chhendipada, threatening to kill the MLAs of Angul district if they violate the dictates written on them.
The posters were noticed near the border of Deogarh, where an encounter between the police and Maoists took place in June. The police claimed the posters as an act of a mad man and ruled out the involvement of the Maoists in the event.
There were three posters pasted on a tree on Wednesday night at Pattasaburi jungle of Baguabole-Kendheigola main road, 15km from Chhendipada police station.
In one of the posters, all the five BJD MLAs in the district have been threatened to be murdered. The posters demand justice to the land oustees and asked one of the legislators to leave liquor business. Another MLA was warned to stop his atrocity on people. Yet another MLA was threatened to recall his promises during last elections.
Inspector in charge of Chhendipada police station Subrat Behera said: “There is no need to seize these posters. This is the work of an insane person. The Maoists never write such things, and they do it after committing the crime. A goon is behind this mischief.”
A local villager, however, said that a few days ago, a group of masked men and women speaking in Hindi had been roaming around the village. The police were informed about the movement, but no action was taken.
Besides, the police still remain unable to trace a construction company’s two employees, who were allegedly abducted by the Maoists at Pallahara on Tuesday.
