Berhampur: Letters from unidentified sources to a group of professors of various departments and the posters pasted on the walls against vice-chancellor Rajendra Prasad Das has created a flutter on the varsity campus here.
"We do not know who has pasted these letters and posters at the university. But we are determined to book the culprits under the rule of law," said registrar Sailendra Dwivedi, who has lodged an FIR at Gopalpur police station.
Inspector-in-charge of Gopalpur police station Susant Kumar Sahu said police were investigating into it.
The posters printed in Odia under the headline 'Berhampur Biswavidyalaya Banchaa, durniti hataa' (save Berhampur University and remove corruption) were pasted on the walls of the central office of the postgraduate department and on other buildings on Monday.
The posters demanded vigilance inquiry into alleged irregularities in funds released under the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (Rusa) and the UGC. It also demanded arrests of PG council chairman and two professors of marine and electronic science departments.
"These funds are being mismanaged and spent lavishly by Das," president of the Union V. Srinivas Rao said.
However, the VC has refuted the allegations terming those as 'rubbish'.
VC said these things are 'saddening' for him though he is not bothered.
Campus supervisor Mihir Tripathy said about 100 posters were removed from the campus.
