Paradip, Dec. 17: People living in the proposed Posco steel project area today protested against construction of the boundary wall and uprooted the demarcation pillar structures in protest against non-revision of rehabilitation and compensation package.

Hundreds of people marched to the project boundary wall construction site and removed the pillars by digging up trenches at Sidhapitha village under Nuagaon gram panchayat.

However, the company officials were unfazed by the move.

The boundary wall construction work of the project progressed unhindered today.

Protest meetings were held at Gadajukjang, Nuagaon and Gobindpur villages seeking the stalling of the project work.
