Cuttack/Bubaneswar Feb. 24: Police today traced the car, which was used by gangster siblings - Sushant and Sushil Dhal Samant - to dispose of bodies of the sharpshooters, Om Prakash Swain and Dipu Mallick, in Jharkhand.

The car has been traced in Sambalpur. Both Dipu and Om, who had gone missing in 2013, were allegedly abducted and killed by the brothers at a farmhouse in Athgarh.

Police commissioner Y.B. Khurania said: "The gangster duo, along with their associates, had carried the bodies in the Honda City to Jharkhand to dispose them of."

Sources said the gangster siblings had sold off the car to J. Joseph in Sambalpur in 2014.

The police have also got the nod from Orissa High Court to handcuff the gangster brothers. "However, the investigating officer will have to explain later to the court of the SDJM, Cuttack, the circumstances under which the both were handcuffed," the single-judge bench of Justice B.K. Nayak specified in the order.

In another development, Khurania today called for report from Cuttack police on how Ravindra Sethi, the then stenographer of former director-general of police Sanjeev Marik, had been allowed to meet the don duo while they were being produced in a Cuttack court last week.

Yesterday, he was shifted to Koraput on disciplinary grounds.

Sethi had been associated with Marik since 2012 and worked as Marik's personal assistant till his retirement.

The police administration was on the backfoot after former inspector general of police Anadi Sahu alleged that Sethi had acted as the middleman between Marik and the brother duo and demanded that their nexus should be thoroughly investigated.

However, Marik today told The Telegraph: "I will shortly file a criminal and civil suit against Sahu. The draft report has already been prepared."
