Bhubaneswar, Nov. 18: Hrithik Roshan’s last release, the overhyped Kites, turned out to be a disaster at the box office. But that doesn’t seem to have dented his fans’ hopes as far as his next movie, Guzaarish, is concerned.
From queues at the ticket counter to online advance bookings, there’s a rush at all the theatres in the city that would screen the first show of Guzaarish tomorrow.
The movie features the Aishwarya Rai-Hrithik Roshan pair for the third time.
“I’m sure after the Kites debacle, Hrithik will make it up for his fans with Guzaarish. I’m already impressed with the glimpses of his performance I saw in the promos,” said Gayatri Pradhan, a corporate employee.
“The cinematography of the film and Aishwarya’s look amazing. I want to watch the film on the first day,” said Rakesh Mohanty, a college student.
However, many in the city are disappointed that they will miss watching the first part of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, since it won’t release in the city tomorrow.
“I was badly waiting for Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. But sadly it is not releasing here. So, I will go for Guzaarish and have already booked tickets online,” said Mansi Behera, a college student.
“There has been a huge rise in online ticket bookings since last week. We are expecting a huge audience for the first day of Guzaarish,” said Rabi Mohanty, manager, Keshari film hall.
But the timing of release for viewers of the capital may not be appropriate feels Rabindra Kumar Sahoo, manager S-complex.
“It’s neither Diwali time nor New Year or Christmas vacations. It’s mostly during the festive season that the young crowd hits the theatres. So we have only two shows of the film and are continuing with Action Replayy and Golmaal Returns, which released about two weeks ago,” he said.
About the Harry Potter series not releasing on time, Sahoo said it might be expected in the coming weeks.
“If the response at other cities turns out to be good, we would play it in its Hindi version,” he said.
“Moreover, with so many Oriya films ready to release, we prefer playing them as the major chunk of viewers go for them,” he added.
