Bhubaneswar: Power tariff is likely to increase as the Supreme Court has rejected the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission’s appeal to continue with the cross-subsidy system. The commission had moved the apex court against the Appellate Tribunal’s order in this regard. arlier, the domestic consumers got the benefit as the commission had imposed higher tariff on industrial houses and lesser tariff per unit of power on general consumers under the cross-subsidy system. Challenging this order, one of the industrial houses had moved the court. Bhubaneswar: Union home minister P. Chidambaram is scheduled to visit the state on Wednesday.
