Bhubaneswar, July 31: The Sambalpur University is set to introduce online services for students to issue certificates and fill up examination forms.

A university source said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be signed shortly with the Centre for Modernising Government Initiative under the state government.

Vice-chancellor C.R. Tripathy said the students could fill up the examination form and get the admit card, provisional mark sheet, migration certificate online after the digitisation process.

The varsity has 230 affiliated colleges across the western Odisha. Many institutions are located far away from the university. After the process, students will not be required to visit the university to procure admit cards, provisional mark sheets or migration certificates. After the digitisation of the university, the students will be able fill up the examination form, download the provisional mark sheet and the migration certificate at the Jana Seva Kendras operational in their locality by paying the required fees online.

"A target has been set to complete the digitisation process by the end of September," said the vice-chancellor.

Controller of examinations of the university Sisir Swain said the objective of the digitisation was to make the exam process hassle free for the students. "A two-member team recently visited the university for this purpose. They will come again with the modalities and the MoU will be signed thereafter," Swain said.

At present, the filling up of forms is done manually. "After digitisation, we will generate admit cards and send it to the students," Swain said.
