Bhubaneswar , July 7 : The higher education department today directed all colleges to conduct both online and offline admissions for Plus Two courses.

The department, which had planned to go with e-admissions for all 1,327 junior colleges of Odisha for the 2012-2013 academic session, had to change its decision after the high court’s order on June 29 stating that “there should be no bar for students applying for admissions through offline or manual mode”.

The high court directed the department to continue both online and offline procedures simultaneously.

The court also asked the higher education department to keep e-admission ‘optional’. Any student desirous of submitting application for admission manually should be allowed to do the same.

Clarifying the procedure for the 2012-13 academic session under project Student Academic Management System (SAMS), the Odisha government, in a letter to all colleges has intimated the modifications made as per the new format.

While those applying online would have to continue following the established procedure for e-admission under SAMS, applicants who wish to apply manually can fill up the blank common application forms (CAF) for admission into Plus Two courses available at all junior colleges.

The principals of the junior colleges, which have doubled as SAMS resource centres, have been asked to download and print the CAF form from the website of the department www.dheori-ssa.in.
