Odisha plans world skill meet

The Naveen Patnaik government has decided to organise World Skill Odisha meet to showcase the state's potential in the field and its industrial growth over the last one decade.

Bhubaneswar: The Naveen Patnaik government has decided to organise World Skill Odisha meet to showcase the state's potential in the field and its industrial growth over the last one decade.

The conference will be held on April 28 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Cuttack.

The state government's focus on skill development is evident in the governor S.C. Jamir's address in the Assembly on Tuesday.

Jamir dwelt on how the Odisha government was giving utmost priority to the development and expansion of technical education and skill training sector for creating employment opportunities for the youth of the state.

Jamir praised the government for making Odisha the first state in the country to have come out with a legislation to accord land rights and property rights to the slum dwellers.
