Plus Three admission rules revised
Bhubaneswar: Students, who could not apply for Plus Three during the regular e-admission process, will get an opportunity to do so during the vacant seat admission after July 31. Even those who failed to secure a seat during regular admissions or have passed the instant examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education may also apply. The higher education department would bring out a detailed timeline and procedure regarding this after the spot selection process. Bhubaneswar: Two women constables of the Rourkela Mahila Police station were suspended on Thursday for negligence in duty after a rape accused managed to escape from police custody. The accused, identified as Pradip Srivastav, 30, was being taken to Rourkela Government Hospital for medical examination when he escaped from the vehicle. Constable R. Marandi and S. Seth were accompanying the accused when the incident took place. Srivastav was the main accused in a gangrape case in the steel city about 15 days ago. BHUBANESWAR: Two fine arts students of BK College of Art and Craft, who were on hunger strike, were admitted to a city-based hospital on Thursday. The students have been on fast unto death since Tuesday demanding an explanation from the authorities of Utkal University of Culture about answer sheet valuation. The agitating students have also alleged that the authorities had engaged unqualified externals during their examination.
