Bhubaneswar: OJEE counselling began on Friday for lateral entry of diploma students into degree courses. The students registered themselves on the OJEE website where they could “lock” their choice of college. This year, 13,162 students have qualified for this category. However, uncertainty prevails over the counselling dates for medical, bachelor of dentistry, agriculture and engineering streams. Bhubaneswar: Members of the Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangh on Friday hoisted red flags on around 200 acres of non-tribal land at Khumbhariput panchayat in Bandhugaon block of Koraput. Four persons were arrested during a combing operation near Chinakamra forest in the area. A huge stash of leaflets was seized from their possession. Bhubaneswar: Rourkela police on Friday released six villagers of Gurundia in Sundargarh district. The three had been arrested on Wednesday during a Maoist search operation. The men were suspected to be Maoists sympathisers. They were released after representatives from the Advasi Manch appealed for their release. Angul: A fresh case of dengue surfaced at Talcher after a person tested positive on Wednesday. The area had reported the previous case in April at the central colony areas of Talcher. The district medical authorities said they were waiting for reports from SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway has decided to run 60 special trains from various parts of Odisha and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh for the upcoming chariot festival. Sources said special trains to the pilgrim town of Puri would depart from Visakhapatnam, Palasa, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Paradip, Bhadrak, Berhampur, Sambalpur and Gunupur. The time table of eight trains have been rescheduled. Bhubaneswar: Two persons were killed when a tractor overturned at Jagapur in Ganjam district on Thursday. The victims were identified as C. Nokeya Reddy, 32, and G. Tarineya Reddy, 45, the driver and helper of the vehicle respectively.
