Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to engage retired teachers for imparting quality education to students. The retired teachers will be engaged in government high schools in their localities under the Teacher on Call scheme. The teachers will be selected through a selection committee. Bhubaneswar: The state government on Thursday decided to implement a new scheme named as Chief Minister's Employment Generation Scheme. Under the new scheme, skill development training will be provided to 11 lakh men and women in five years. Bhubaneswar: Police on Thursday arrested a bike lifter from Saheed Nagar and recovered nine motorcycles from him. The accused identified as Satya Paikaray, 22, of Sarana village of Khurda district has been staying at Saheed Nagar for the past few months. The police said a number of cases are pending against Satya at various police stations across the city. Balasore: An inquiry team headed by women protection officer on Thursday visited the parental house of Barsa Swony Chaudhary in Bhoi Sahi to record her statement in connection with her case pertaining to domestic violence which she lodged against her husband on August 21 last year in the court of sub-divisional judicial magistrate. Barsha Swony the daughter-in-law of former law minister Raghunath Mohanty had lodged dowry torture complaint against her in laws. Bhubaneswar: Due to safety related signal modernisation work (electronic interlocking) and also to facilitate smooth and better movement of trains, East Coast Railway has undertaken electronic-inter locking work in Barang. As a result, three trains to be short terminated and two trains Sambalpur-Puri-Sambalpur Inter City Express and the Bhubaneswar-Kendujhargarh-Bhubaneswar passenger will remain cancelled both the directions.
