Capital to host environment event

Bhubaneswar: The third Odisha Environment Congress will be held at the Regional Museum of Natural History here from December 20 to 22 on “Energy and Environment: Issue, Challenges and Potentials of Odisha”. Forest minister Bijoyshree Routray said the event would be jointly sponsored by the state forest & environment, energy and science and technology departments. It will be organised by the Bhubaneswar-based Human Development Foundation, the Centre for Environment and Development of Thiruvananthapuram, and National Museum of Natural History.

IPS rejig

Bhubaneswar: The state government on Thursday effected a rejig of IPS officers. While Amitendra Nath Sinha will be the new SP of Rourkela, R.K. Singh will take charge of Bhadrak. Dillip K. Deo has been posted as Jharsuguda SP, while Bhagyadhar Behera will take the charge of Nayagarh.

Accident

Sambalpur: One person was killed and two others were injured after a truck hit two bikes at Ramchandra Nagar under the Rengali police limit of Sambalpur on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Lingaraj Bhoi while the injured are Gunjan Bhoi and Bulu Mahanta.
