Bhubaneswar: A Bhubaneswar court has admitted a petition challenging Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s plans to use Satyamev Jayate, the national motto of India, as a business brand under which he proposes to sell everything from kitchen utensils to footwear. The court of sub-divisional judicial magistrate, Bhubaneswar, has admitted the case filed by Subash Mohapatra, a journalist and social activist, on June 9 and has posted the hearing of the case for June 17 to decide if Khan needs to be issued a directive for personal appearance.

Money scam

Bhubaneswar: Deputy inspector general of CBI S Bagchi on Friday met the state government officials seeking logistic support for the investigating agency which would probe into money laundering of 44 deposit collection companies in the state. Bagchi met the special secretary of home department and additional director general of crime branch. Later, he visited the CBI court in Bhubaneswar. The central investigating agency took over the cases following an order of Supreme Court.

Mishap

Kendrapara: A 55-year-old man died and 40 others were injured when a passenger bus carrying them from Cuttack to Rajnagar fell into a roadside ditch near Parmanandpur on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Chunnu Majhi.
