Bhubaneswar: Around 20 children had a narrow escape after the bus of a private school turned turtle near Satyabhamapur within Balianta police limits on Friday evening. Later, the children were rescued through the window of the bus, but luckily no one was injured in the accident. The bus driver might have been drunk and could not balance the bus when it skidded from the road, the police suspect.

Malpractice

Bhubaneswar: In the annual Plus Two examination for English compulsory paper for Arts stream, 165 students were caught copying, said secretary of Council of Higher Secondary Education Gyanaranjan Mohanty.

Group clash

Bhubaneswar: Around 10 people were injured in a group clash near Uttara on the outskirts of the city. The clash took place in front of a foreign liquor shop when people attending a wedding procession had an argument with some local youths. The police said five persons from each group suffered injuries.

Suspended

Nayagarh: Four teachers, including a centre superintendent, were suspended on Friday for faulty conduct of the ongoing annual High School Certificate examinations. The four suspended teachers include the superintendent of Baigania High School centre and three assistant teachers at the Khandapada Girls’ High School centre.
