Fraud behind bars

Bhubaneswar: Capital police arrested Uday Kumar Sahu who was allegedly collecting money from people using duplicate letter pads and stamps of four MPs. The police said that Sahu was arrested on the basis of a complaint by Congress MP Pradip Majhi. Sahu is said to be the editor and publisher of a local newspaper.

Jajpur: Labourers working at L&T fabrication unit ransacked its site office at Jodabar in Jajpur Road police station limits in this district following the death of a worker under mysterious circumstances. A police squad has been deployed at the site after the violence.

PG forms

Bhubaneswar: Forms for admission to postgraduate courses at Utkal University would be available online from Wednesday on the varsity website www.utkaluniversity.ac.in. Students can download the forms, fill it up and attach it with a bank draft of Rs 400 before submitting it by post or in person. The last date for form submission is June 30.

Green day

Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of the World Environment Day, the Nandankanan Zoological Park on Tuesday imposed a ban on polythene carry bags on its premises. Though the park authorities had planned the ban years ago, it was implemented on the World Environment Day with more than 2,000 visitors taking the pledge and using paper and cotton bags.from near the entry point of the park. oo authorities in association with Centre for Environment Education and Nature and Wildlife Society of Odisha, two city-based non-government organisations, requested the visitors to discard the polythene bags and purchase the paper and cotton alternatives instead
