Bhubaneswar: Nuapada MLA Basant Kumar Panda on Friday was unanimously elected as the BJP’s legislature party leader in presence of the central observer and Union environment and forests and information and broadcasting minister Prakash Javadekar. All the MLAs except Dillip Ray were present at the meeting. Later, Javadekar told the media that he had a special commitment for Odisha. “We will soon prepare an action plan for Odisha to execute public purpose projects. However, the officials from the state government have not yet approached the Centre to expedite any project,” he said. Javadekar also said the Centre was examining the Justice MB Shah Commission’s recommendations and findings on the mining scam. “This will be completed by July end,” he said. The Union minister also hinted that the Centre would go ahead with contentious Polavaram project but emphasis would be given on rehabilitation package. Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik has issued a set of 12-point guidelines to its MLAs and MPs on how to work for the development of the people of their areas.hey have been asked not to keep any of their family members as their representatives and to prioritise on the overall development of youths, farmers and women. They have been asked to prepare action plan for their district for three years and submit it by August. They have been asked to work in tandem for utilisation of funds to the tune of Rs 50 lakh from MP and MLA Local Area Development fund in a transparent manner in each constituency.
