Cheat cuffs on chit fund owner

Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested a chit fund owner for duping his customers to the tune of Rs 10 lakh. The police said the accused, Sazid Khan, who used to run a chit fund company called Royal Gold and Bullion Marketing Company Limited at Barbil, had allegedly collected money from the poor from the area, promising that their money would be doubled in a year. After a year, when the investors approached him, the company closed down its office and left the area.

Rebels in net

Bhubaneswar: Police on Monday arrested two Maoists arrested during a joint combination with the CRPF. The duo have been identified as Shravan Gardanka and Pitchu Gardanka. Two landmines and ammunitions have been seized from the duo.

Molestation

Bhubaneswar: Mahila police on Monday arrested a youth for allegedly molesting a woman working at a bank at Kharavela Nagar. Police said the youth was harassing the complainant for the past few days and had also tried to outrage her modesty.
