
Cuttack, Oct. 4: The state crime branch today interrogated four persons, including Congress MLA K. Surya Rao, in connection with the suicide of four family members of the Paralakhemundi palace manager Ananga Manjari Patra.
A suicide note left by Ananga had allegedly accused the Paralakhemundi MLA and few others of driving her and her siblings to end their lives. Their bodies were recovered on August 20.
After the forensic experts had examined the note, the crime branch summoned four persons for interrogation.
Former BJD district president of Gajapati Basant Das and a local resident Manoranjan Badaghara were also summoned.
So far, the crime branch has questioned eight persons in connection with this case. On Monday, the crime branch sleuths had interrogated Parlakhemundi councillor Bibhuti Nayak and Congress leader Sudhir Ranjan Mohapatra.
"I have co-operated with crime branch officials. All the allegations levelled against me are false and fabricated. I will depose again if required," said Rao. Manager of the Gajapati Palace Ananga Manjari Patra, her sister and brother had committed suicide at their residence in Gajapati town.
